The Candida Diet Snacks List: 5 Foods That Fight Candida
Struggling to find the time to make healthy anti-candida meals? Our candida diet snacks list is designed for people who are always on the go! Check out our top 5 snacks recommended by our health experts!
Foods That Will Be Left Off Our List
Our candida diet snacks list aims to help you avoid 4 major things found in food: yeast, sugar, simple carbohydrates, and food that can contain mold (such as cheese). We will also be focusing on dishes that don’t require a lot of time to make. If you want to learn about full-blown meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, click this link here.
1. Avocado Tuna Salad
Lunchtime, next to breakfast, is probably when you’ll have the least amount of time to eat. We love this as a lunchtime snack not only because of its simplicity and taste but also because the Vitamin C in avocados is essential when trying to fight candida.
Ingredients:
1 (5 oz) can of tuna packed in water or oil drained
1 ripe avocado roughly chopped
1/2 cup cucumber chopped
1/4 cup minced celery
1/4 cup minced red or green onion
2 Tbsp chopped fresh cilantro or parsley
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 Tbsp lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
Freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
This one will only take a few minutes, depending on how fast you can chop vegetables! Once you’ve got your ingredients prepped, place all of them in a medium-sized bowl. Mix with a fork or spoon until the avocado is roughly mashed and mixed thoroughly.
2. Carrots with Guacamole Dip
What, no ranch? I know what you’re thinking, but guacamole is one of the tastiest and healthiest things you can eat for snack time.
Guacamole is packed with nutrients, so if you’re really running low on time, give this one a shot! Carrots are also a great addition to get you nice and full, and it’s packed with Vitamin C. If you’re not a carrot person, you can substitute the carrots with any vegetable.
3. Sugar-Free Beef Jerky
I love this option when I’m really craving junk food! Be careful though not all beef jerky will be sugar-free!
One of the reasons this made it to our candida diet snacks list is because it’s pure protein. Feel free to add any vegetables on the side if you’re looking for something a little extra. 4. Kale Chips and Mixed Nuts
I get it; eating jerky is not everyone’s thing! Kale chips and nuts are some of my favorite foods when I really don’t have time to make anything else, and I’m not in the mood for something heavy.
Kale is full of Vitamin A, but when it comes to nuts, there’s one you should watch out for. Peanuts are the one nut that can cause problems with candida, so avoid them at all costs. Everything else is fair game!
5. Yoghurt and Blueberries
Got a sweet tooth? Yogurt and blueberries are one of my go-to snacks when I really feel like indulging. Blueberries can improve heart health, bone strength, skin health, blood pressure, and are packed with antioxidants.
This can really become a staple for those who don’t have time to make something like kale chips. If you’re not a fan of blueberries, you can swap them for strawberries.
