6 Tips To Start Healing From Candida Right Now
Candida is a ruthless fungal pathogen. The trouble is that the early stages of Candida overgrowth often go unnoticed at first, they are dismissed as ‘normal’ issues, such as lowered energy levels, getting sick more often, or bloating after eating.
Unfortunately, chronic low-level pain and discomfort have become so common they’re assumed to be ‘normal.’ Feeling sick and tired in your body is NOT normal! We should be aiming to feel like we’re thriving, not just barely surviving, right?
If you are feeling any low-grade discomfort in your body, this can mean that a storm is brewing in your digestive system, your guts. It’s way better to nip Candida in its early stages (stage 1-2) before it has grown in to a full-blown systemic infection.

Sometimes early stages of Candida overgrowth (Stage 1, or Stage 2 when you only have a few symptoms) can be kept in check using natural remedies such as dietary changes, caprylic oil, probiotics, and diatomaceous earth. #1 Remove Sugar From Your Diet
The #1 most important thing you can do right now is to use food as your medicine. The first step is to remove sugar-laden Candida feeding foods from your diet to start weakening the fungus. This includes the obvious, sugar, and also C.R.A.P. foods— that’s anything carbonated, refined, artificial, processed. If it comes in a package with an ingredients list with unrecognizable words, don’t eat it: cookies, chips, sweets, pastries, sodas, chocolate, ice cream, you get the idea.
This also includes the not so obvious foods that may look healthy at first, but actually metabolically still breakdown into glucose in the body to further empower Candida. This includes:
- starchy carbohydrates and all grains (and products made from them) including potato, wheat, barley, rye, rice, corn, oats, quinoa. So that’s your pasta, breakfast cereals, bread, rice crackers, protein bars, etc.
- legumes: beans, chickpeas, soy, peanuts
- all fruit and fruit juice (except berries)
- sugar and artificial sweeteners
When you stop eating these foods not only do you stop feeding Candida, you also stop feeding other parasitic organisms in your gut which are adding to the overgrowth problem.
Most people aren’t aware that when treating Candida you are also treating gut dysbiosis, a condition that develops when the gut lacks beneficial bacteria and is overrun by pathogenic bacteria. Cleaning up the diet by removing sugars helps shift your gut flora out of dysbiosis.
Foods to indulge in are:
- Wild caught fish: salmon, cod, anchovies, halibut, trout, seabass, tuna (watch out for farmed salmon, tilapia)
- Organic, pasture raised animal protein: beef, chicken, lamb, turkey, eggs
- Wild game such as bison and venison
- Healthy fats and oils – pastured butter, ghee, coconut oil, avocado and avocado oil, almond oil, olive oil, flaxseed oil, cod liver oil, sesame oil
- Nuts: raw or roasted almond, cashew, walnut, macadamia, pistachio, pecan (no peanuts, and watch for ‘candied’ nuts)
- Seeds: flaxseed, chia, hemp, sunflower, pumpkin, sesame
- Above ground vegetation such as cruciferous vegetables (cabbage, Brussels sprouts, kale, cauliflower, broccoli), asparagus, celery, spinach, radish, zucchini, tomato, pepper, eggplant, lettuce, leafy greens, beet tops, leek, tomato, mushroom, cucumber
- Spices and herbs: ginger, garlic, onion, turmeric, fennel, anis, cumin, paprika, cayenne, cardamom, cinnamon, bay leaf, dill, rosemary, thyme, coriander, cilantro, parsley, basil, black pepper, sea salt
Hang out in the produce section of your grocery store and see what vegetables catch your eye, or head over to your nearest farmers market and get some fresh organic produce. These dietary changes add up to a more effective Candida Cleanse and will help accelerate your overall healing.
Not only do you reduce your toxin load (and having fewer toxins in the system already strengthens your immune system and reduces stress on your detox pathways), these nutrient dense foods will supply your body with the necessary nutrition you need to rebuild.
#2 Drink Bone Broth Everyday
If you have Candida fungus in your body, you’ll inevitable have leaky gut because Candida causes leaky gut. Once it mutates from its yeast form into its deadly fungal form, Candida grows ‘fungal hyphae’ — roots that penetrate through your intestinal lining (and other tissues) causing them to become permeable.
When cleansing from Candida, and long after the cleanse is done, you must focus on repairing your gut lining.
If you do not heal your leaky gut, you are highly susceptible to a reinfection. You become vulnerable to develop a host of conditions which an unaddressed leaky gut can lead to including:
